Paulding Rotary Welcomes GRSP Student 2019

The Paulding County Rotary Club again welcomed Magno Giovanni Gabriel, an exchange student from Brazil who is currently attending West Georgia University. Magno is in the Georgia Rotary student program (GRSP). His Paulding-Rotary host family is Brian and Ashleigh Headrick. Paulding Rotary is one of three local Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsoring him in the GRSP.
Mr. Gabriel will be returning home to Brazil soon to finish pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. As a bright and very interesting young man, he enthusiastically shared some of the great times he had through his connection to the GRSP host families that he was able to spend time with. He spoke of baseball and football games that he was able to attend and he definitely received an education in Southern cooking.
Magno is a member of a large family and is active in church, school and his local Rotary Club of which he is a member.130500 grsp 4 23 2019 2

About the Georgia Rotary Student Program
Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. The students become adopted members of a Georgia “host family,” living on-campus at the school they attend. This is a scholarship program, not a student exchange program. Each year, approximately 60 students from all over the world participate in the program. Students from these nations develop friendships while learning about a different culture and lifestyle. Georgia Rotarians believe “Peace is Possible” and through GRSP promote international goodwill through friendship and understanding.
