International Goals of the Rotary

The Rotary Club of Paulding County is a part of Rotary International and supports the projects of the Rotary throughout the world. The goal of Rotary international is to improve lives and create a better world for tomorrow. The Rotary has six areas of focus to that end, promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

Fighting Disease & Ending Polio

For 30 years Rotary has been working to eradicate polio. Today the accomplishment of this goal is in sight. Starting in 1979, with vaccinations for 6 million children in the Philippines. Now, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Pakistan are the only three countries in the world where polio remains an epidemic. Our fight does not end with polio. The Rotary works to improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas. We educate and equipped communities all around the world to fight other diseases such as Malaria and HIV/AIDS.polio 1750x700

Clean Water Initiative

Rotary international works hard to ensure long-term success communities without clean water and sanitation. We not only build wells, but we share expertise to help impoverished and developing communities maintain sanitation and hygiene. Promoting Peace Worldwide

The Rotary international believes in fostering peace through communication across cultural boundaries. We provide training programs to adults and young leaders in order to promote mediation. We believe communication can provide opportunities for peaceful conflict resolution. Additionally, training is provided for those refugees fleeing dangerous areas.peace 1750x700

Saving Mothers and Children

Malnutrition combined with poor, or no, health care kill approximately 6 million children under the age of five every year. Providing quality care and access to the basic necessities for mothers and their children safe lives. Rotary international provides immunizations, birth kits, and mobile health clinics to save mother and child from death and disease. Mothers are educated on how to breastfeed, protect themselves and prevent mother to infant HIV transmission.mothers 1750x700

Support of Education

The goal of Rotary international is to strengthen communities in their capacities to support basic education and literacy programs. We also support gender equality in education. An estimated 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Additionally, we look for opportunities to increase adult literacy.education 1750x700

Growth for Local Economies

Rotary provides enhanced economic and community development to create opportunities for decent and productive work. Service projects are carried out training and development with young and old worker opportunity.
