Rotary Club president John Grant address the members and welcomed guests from Truth in Nature and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Both groups are Christian-based youth ministries active here in Paulding County. The Paulding Rotary club continues to be a supporter of both ministries for the good work they do here in the county.
Jeff Bell of Truth in Nature took the podium and thanked the club members for the opportunity to speak and for the continued support. Truth in Nature is a Christian-based mentoring ministry for young boys, specifically for those young teens without the positive influence of a father at home. Truth in Nature provides opportunities for camping, hunting, fishing and other character building activities. Mentors are fully vetted with complete and comprehensive background checks. These mentors are volunteers and provide guidance that many young boys here in our community desperately need.
Robbie Finley of the FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, took the podium and thanked members of the Rotary club for their continued support. The FCA provides Christian ministry to young athletes and coaches in our middle and high schools. They provide camps and retreats with leadership skills and guidance. Last year the FCA was able to provide 292 kids and coaches the opportunity for camp this year the number will be 600. Despite threatening letters of secular groups targeting any and all Christian-based groups, but specifically the FCA, the ministry continues to grow despite the anti-Christian sentiment feared by many of our local school administrators.
The Paulding County Rotary club is very proud of the accomplishments made by Truth in Nature and the FCA. Both received a $1000 donation each from the club.
